What’s in a name?

Indeed.  Where do some of these ideas originate?

My RX3 still has the original “Speed” decals on the tank panels (along with roughly 20,000 miles worth of other CSC touring decals).   After our first year of bringing in the RX3, we changed the tank panel moniker to “Adventure,” and in 2019 we did away with the decal altogether.  But those original “Speed” decals drew their fare share of snide comments.  Not that we minded it.  It was all grand fun.  Like that time some wiseacre asked on one of the forums if the panel actually said “Speed,” to which I answered, “yeah, it does…we wanted it to say methamphetamine, but the font got too small.”

I saw a few other names at the Canton Fair today that were good for a smile.   For starters, take a look at this cool Grom-like growler from the good folks at Yamasaki….

Yep, Yamasaki.  Seriously.

Hey, who wouldn’t be passionate about riding their Yamasaki?

Here’s a another Grom-styled small bike that’s so cool it just called out to to be named…

…well, you know…

And then there’s KTM.   I have to go back to that booth and ask them if they really are the same KTM.   I guess they are going beyond just doing their bikes in orange now…

Me?  I’m going to look around a bit more and see if I can find me a Kawazuki.

You never know…
