And a special wish for a great 4th of July for all of our friends. I thought I’d post some of my favorite videos featuring my favorite motorcycle…
This first one is the most recent, showing Mike, Steve, and yours truly cavorting in the San Gabriels just a few days ago. I can’t stop watching this one. It’s almost as good as actually being out in the wind on my California Scooter (almost)…
Here’s another recent one I especially like…no music, but it shows what it’s like to ride on the freeway on my way home from CSC…this is my entire run along the 210, from Fruit Street to Mountain Avenue…
This one’s pretty cool…it shows Steve on the In-N-Out Bobber bike ordering a burger at, well, where else…In-N-Out!
And here’s one showing Art bopping through Pomona ritziest neighborhood accompanied by theme song from Miami Vice…
Do you remember the music from the TV show, Rawhide? I sure do…it seemed appropriate on this ride coming down from Mt. Baldy…
I like to do a photo compilation at the end of each year…here’s the one from 2011…like every year, that sure was a good one…
Here’s one from one of our Customer Appreciation Rides when we went offroad a bit…
Arlene grabbed this video of Tom Hanks checking out her bike…
This one shows us up on Glendora Ridge Road…it’s had a lot views, and it’s one of my favorites. My buddy Tom, who’s right in front of me on this ride, suggested the soundtrack…
I like this one a lot, too…it’s a collection of stills from our CSC Baja ride…
And of course, there’s our build of the 2011 In-N-Out Burger bike, featuring Scooter Boy, Lupe, and Steve!
And one last one, folks…the YouTube we did for the Military Series…
That’s all for now…time to start celebrating the 4th!
When I was at the plant yesterday, I made a couple of new friends…Cindi and Andre. It was pretty cool…they were talking to TK about a new bike for Cindi, but as soon as I arrived on my Scooter, Andre said “hey, aren’t you the blog guy?”
Cindi is trying to decide between the Greaser (that’s her with Andre and TK above) and an orange Classic. She looks good on both bikes!
Oh, hey, I just received two more super photos from Howard, who is certainly making tracks! Here are photos of Howard at the Continental Divide and in front of Yellowstone Lake!
Howard, you are definitely having fun!
Speaking of which, I uploaded a couple more videos I made while tooling around on my Baja Blaster yesterday…enjoy!
Yes, indeed, we are having a lot of fun. Even more good news…my buddy Mike (whom I just visited last week on the East Coast) is in town, and he’s driving up from San Diego early tomorrow morning to go for a scoot with Steve and me up in the San Gabriels. Watch for the photos and maybe another video in the next day or so!
Our good buddy Howard just sent this shot in today…he’s at the campground in Bozeman, Montana, on his way to Yellowstone!
Howard, it looks like you are having a ball! Ride safe, my friend, and keep those photos coming!
Oh, one more thing…Vikki sent me a note a few minutes ago…our NBC news story is going to air sometime next week (not tonight), so I’ll keep you posted as soon as I know more.
I guess it wasn’t much of a mystery at all for a crowd as sophisticated as our readership. You guys were pretty much right on the money with your inputs a couple of blog entries below!
Behold…an absolutely magnificant 1947 Mustang Colt…with its Villiers two-stroke engine!
This Colt is indeed magnificent, and what impressed me mightily is its size. If a regular Mustang is a 3/4-size motorcycle, the Colt is a 3/4-size Mustang. It’s tiny and it’s beautiful. And the design and styling touches on this model are impressive. Check out the mufflers. Check out the dual exhausts and recognize that this is a single-cylinder motorcycle. And check out the wheels…they’re 8-inchers!
This particular Colt is absolutely pristine…it looked like it rolled off Jimbo Cavanaugh’s Glendale assembly line yesterday, but in fact it did so 65 years ago!
The Mustang above belongs to my good buddy Al, but you’ll have to wait to read all about that…and you’ll have an opportunity to do so in the world’s classiest motorcycle magazine in the near future. That’s it for now, boys and girls…time to hop on my very own mystery motor and head over to the plant!
Yep, that Vikki Vargas! And we’re going to be on NBC news tonight at 5:00 p.m.!
Ms. Vargas called late yesterday morning and asked if she and her Channel 4 news crew could stop by to visit with CSC and interview Steve. Duh…let’s think about that for a bit…heck, yeah!
Ms. Vargas had seen the Sue Carpenter LA Times article on California Scooter and wanted to learn more. It was a great visit, and Ms. Vargas spent quite a bit of time with Steve and Lupe. You read that right…our very own Lupe is going to be on TV!
We had a good time, and I especially liked the fact that Kevin, the camera dude, seemed particularly taken with my bike, the Baja Blaster. I’m hoping to catch a few glimpses of it on TV, too, but it’s up against some pretty tough camera-time competition from Steve and Lupe. If you pick up NBC News in So Cal, make sure you watch for us at 5:00 p.m. today!
