I guess it wasn’t much of a mystery at all for a crowd as sophisticated as our readership. You guys were pretty much right on the money with your inputs a couple of blog entries below!
Behold…an absolutely magnificant 1947 Mustang Colt…with its Villiers two-stroke engine!
This Colt is indeed magnificent, and what impressed me mightily is its size. If a regular Mustang is a 3/4-size motorcycle, the Colt is a 3/4-size Mustang. It’s tiny and it’s beautiful. And the design and styling touches on this model are impressive. Check out the mufflers. Check out the dual exhausts and recognize that this is a single-cylinder motorcycle. And check out the wheels…they’re 8-inchers!
This particular Colt is absolutely pristine…it looked like it rolled off Jimbo Cavanaugh’s Glendale assembly line yesterday, but in fact it did so 65 years ago!
The Mustang above belongs to my good buddy Al, but you’ll have to wait to read all about that…and you’ll have an opportunity to do so in the world’s classiest motorcycle magazine in the near future. That’s it for now, boys and girls…time to hop on my very own mystery motor and head over to the plant!
