My good buddy Jerry sent these photos to me…Jerry told me these are actually Chevy billboards in Detroit.    What a cool advertising campaign!

When I see ads like this, they make me smile.   Chevy, you hit a home run with this series!

No, we don’t have any plans for a company ride in Cambodia, but that would be a real adventure!

Attached are pictures of my 1963 Mustang Bronco with the new windshield installed.  This Mustang now sports CSC seat and springs, luggage rack, saddlebags, and windshield.  I think we can actually call it a Mustang/CSC hybrid!  Good luck with the move.

It was a bit cool this afternoon, but it was nothing compared to 6,000 feet up when I rode my Baja Blaster to the top of Mt. Baldy earlier today!   Wowee, it was cold…take a look!

Yep, it was time to get my knees in the freeze, and it was great!

We’re moving to a new location in a few weeks, and Steve is blowing out several prototypes and an original Mustang trike basket case.   We don’t want to take these with us when we move, and folks, there are incredible opportunities here!  Steve calls these project bikes.   We’ve used them for various test and development projects.   The deals on these are exceptional, and the prices are actually too low to list.  Give Steve a call on our toll free number (800 884 4173) to get the details on each of these bikes….

This first one is the bike we used for some of our Euro-spec CSC-150 development work.  It has features we developed to meet the Euro requirements, like the center stand you see below, as well as several other not-so-obvious tricks…

This second bike was a 250cc exploratory model.  There’s lots of potential here, folks!

This third bike was the prototype for our Bobber series.  This would make a nice project and it’s something that screams out for a custom paint job.   Don’t worry about the missing parts…we’ll take care of you on that!

Here’s another one with a 250cc engine and it’s a real runner.  I’ve personally ridden this bike and it is a pretty exciting machine.

This next is of an original Mustang trike. Steve has a lot more of it that’s not shown in the photo below. We used it when we were exploring the possibilities for a CSC trike (we decided not to do a trike for a lot of reasons).

These are super deals, folks, and in the past when we’ve run these kinds of specials, the bikes usually disappear in a day or two.   If you have an interest in any of the above, give us a yell at 800 884 4173 and ask for the boss.   He told me how little he’s asking for some of the above bikes, and I’ll bet you’ll be as surprised as I was!

Other than the trike, all of the CSC bikes will ship with all of the parts you need for a complete bike.   Like I said, call Steve for the details.

One nice thing about these iPhones…it sure is handy having a camera with me all the time.  When I was on the Cal Poly campus earlier today, I spotted a couple of very interesting bikes.   Remembering that I had my iPhone by my side, I snapped a couple of quick shots.

This first shot is an older Yamaha XS650, and it looks like the owner of this one is on his way to turning it into a retro cafe racer of sorts…

Those old 650 Yamahas were interesting bikes.  I always thought I wanted one because I reasoned it would be like one of the old Triumph Bonnevilles I used to ride.   Those would be the real ones, back in the 1960s and 1970s, except the Yamaha would be reliable.  You know…a vertical 650 twin, great handling, good looks, the works.   

Well, the Yamaha was reliable, but it was boring.   I found an XS650 with only 1000 miles on the odometer.   It was virtually a brand new bike and I got it for a song.   It didn’t take too long for me to decide I didn’t like it, though.   The old Bonnevilles were torquey and the handling was incredible.   The Yamaha felt like it had no bottom end torque, and it didn’t handle at all.   The Bonnevilles tipped the scales at right around 370 pounds; I’ll bet that Yamaha was a good 80 to 100 lbs heavier. 

I put a couple of thousand miles on the Yamaha and then traded it to Steve’s brother Ron for a brand new TL1000S Suzuki (well, not quite…I had to throw in another $8,000).   That Suzuki was a great motorcycle, but that’s another story.   One of these days if I can dig up photos of my TL1000S and my Yamaha 650 I’ll post them here (let me know if you want to see them).   The bottom line is that the Yamaha 650 was an itch I had for a while, I scratched it, and then the itch went away.   Onward and upward, like they say.

So, on to the next itch, which has been bothering me a bit since I spotted this bike on campus.  It’s another one I always wanted to own…

It’s a Buell, and this one is an older one with the tubular steel frame.   For some reason I always wanted one.   I saw a similar one at the Long Beach show several years ago with an orange frame and a metallic charcoal tank, fairing, and fenders, and folks…those colors just worked.   The Buell itch struck and I haven’t scratched it yet.

I rode a newer Buell at a Harley dealer in Victorville once.  It was the later model that used the frame as a gas tank.   It was okay, but not cool enough to make me pull out my checkbook.    The older Buells (like the yellow one in the photo above) are much more appealing to me.   If I came across one in gray and orange….well, who knows?   In any event, it’s nice to see some of these younger riders (our Cal Poly students) showing such excellent taste in motorcycles.   If I see more cool older bikes on campus, I’ll grab photos and post them, too.

Your bike is looking great, Russ.  I especially like the sapphire blue combo with the wire wheels and the wide whitewalls!   Good luck on your trip and please keep us posted.
