CSC Shows Off At Adventure Expo

Our RX4s and TT250s proudly stood out front of our display at the Adventure Expo.

CSC Motorcycles made some waves last weekend at the Four Wheeler Adventure Expo in Cost Mesa, California, bringing over hundreds of attendees who were attracted to the incredible value of our bikes. The inaugural event drew in thousands of enthusiasts who were looking for inspiration for their next adventures.

We brought in nearly our full lineup of bikes, from our range-topping RX4s to our value-packed TT250s, as well as our stylish SG250 cafe racer and electric City Slicker. We also had a ton of people check out our new FT750 line of fat-tire electric-assist bicycles.

Our FT750 e-bikes were a big hit with attendees. Shimano hydraulic brakes and shifters, Samsung battery, and 750 watts of power in an aluminum chassis. Just $1,688 with FREE shipping to your door. Racks and fenders are accessory items that can be purchased separately.

Almost everyone was surprised at the amazing value offered with our bikes, and it was great to meet up with many of our loyal customers.

When one guy read the TT250’s $2,195 price, he remarked, “Is that just for the front end…?” Nope, that’s the price for the entire street-legal bike!

Our next event will have us traveling a bit further from our headquarters in Azusa, California, as we’ll be packing up in May to attend the mammoth Overland Expo in Flagstaff, Arizona. We hope to see many of you there over the May 15-17 weekend!

We’re also considering leading a ride from our Azusa, California, headquarters to Flagstaff. Let us know if you would have any interest in being part of a 500-mile CSC group ride! With 450 miles to travel if we stuck to the main highways, we can’t go too far astray, but there’s plenty of interesting places to see along the way! Check out this link for a likely route from CSC to Flagstaff. https://goo.gl/maps/axpgzeCv5FDsoz597

CSC’s technical expert Joey Ducut (with the yellow badge) shares his knowledge with a new fan.

So, whaddaya think, is there enough interest in this trek for us to organize it? If there is, we’d provide a parts/service discount, t-shirt, ride decal, and an arrival dinner for anyone who wants to join us!

Please post in the comments section if you think you’d like to be part of the ride!

Many Updates From CSC!

Hello again, CSC fans! There’s been a ton of new developments here at CSC, and we’re glad to share them with you here. If you’re not yet a subscriber to our blog, please sign up in the form directly to the right of this text ==>

A highlight for us was rolling out our hero video for the RX4, which coincided with our announcement that we were able to reduce the price of our headlining bike to just $4,995! If you haven’t yet seen the video, which was shot locally in the San Bernardino mountains,  please check it out. We’re proud of how it turned out, and we hope you enjoy it, too!

More info on the RX4 can be found here.

Another momentous step for us has been the arrival of our FT750 electric bicycles, which have been shipping out all week! They nicely augment our motorcycle lineup, including our electric City Slicker Grom-fighter and Wiz scooter. The fat-tire FT750s are available in two colors and in two versions, both priced at just $1,688 including free shipping.

The FT750-26 is a traditionally styled mountain bike with 26-inch wheels, while the FT750-20 has 20-inch wheels and a lower step-over height that better suits shorter riders. Both have a powerful 750-watt hub motor and an integrated and lockable Samsung battery. High-end Shimano hydraulic brakes and Shimano gearing combine with a fully adjustable fork suspension to deliver a premium ride experience. Shop it here.

Everyone who rides our FT750 says it’s even more fun to ride than they expected, including me!

We’ve got lots more good stuff on the way, including hero videos for our value-packed TT250 and our stylish SG250 cafe racer, plus a new video for the lineup of FT750s that will be more fun to watch than the picture-based video seen below.

And if you’ve ever wanted to see our full line of bikes and motorcycles in person, you can come out to meet us at the Four-Wheeler Adventure Expo in Costa Mesa, California (March 7-8), or at the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona (May 15-17). We hope to see some of you there!

New CSC FT750 Fat Tire E-bikes On The Way!

At CSC, we love everything with two wheels. Now we’re bringing that enthusiasm for motorcycles into the bicycle market! And, yes, they are bicycles with motors! The FT750s are electric-assist bikes using high-quality components from Shimano, Samsung and Bafang to bring the best value in e-bikes to our fans.

Here is the FT750-26, which identifies a 750-watt motor and 26-inch wheels. Lightweight aluminum is used for the frame, tapered handlebar, pedals and crank.

The FT750-20 is the baby brother, with 20-inch wheels and a lower seat height but using all the same high-quality components.

The rear wheel uses a 7-speed Shimano driveline with the hub-mounted motor.

The Samsung battery is hidden in the frame downtube, while the fork has 4 inches of travel. An LED headlight and a USB port is included in the $1,688 price.

The FT750 has an easy-to-use thumb throttle and Shimano index shifter.

Both models are equipped with Shimano hydraulic brakes and huge 180mm stainless steel brake discs.

AZUSA, Calif. – CSC Motorcycles, renowned for its exceptional customer service, brings its smart sourcing and innovative delivery model to electric bicycles with the new FT750-26 and FT750-20. Both fat-tire bikes are specced out with quality components and desirable features that deliver unmatched value in the e-bike marketplace. Delivered to your door for only $1,688.

“I became frustrated when I was shopping for an electric-assist bicycle, trying to sort through the cheap junk and the expensive stuff that costs more than our motorcycles,” explained Steve Seidner, CSC’s president. “After doing extensive research, I was able to source the exact componentry to build an e-bike that is the perfect balance of quality and value.”

The FT750 is built around a lightweight aluminum chassis rather than heavier steel frames, and it uses a battery pack that fits integrally into the frame’s downtube for an ultra-clean appearance compared to the tacked-on battery of lesser competitors. The battery uses high-quality Samsung lithium cells to deliver 653 watt-hours of energy, enough to help power the bike for 25 to 40+ miles, depending on the amount of pedal assistance provided by its rider.

The lockable battery pack sends its energy to an intelligent brushless controller and then to a first-rate Bafang motor mounted in the rear-wheel hub that delivers a healthy 750 watts of power. Pedal-assist rates can be adjusted to five levels, while a thumb-operated throttle can power the FT750 to 20 mph (max speed for Class 2 electric bikes) without even pedaling. Adding pedal power can boost maximum speed above 25 mph.

Like the Samsung battery, Bafang motor, and 6061 aluminum frame, the rest of the FT750’s components are also premium quality. Some bicycle brands use primitive cable-actuated brakes, while CSC chooses Shimano hydraulic brakes biting on huge 180mm stainless steel discs for superb control.

The esteemed Shimano brand is also found on the 7-speed Freewheel gear set and Tourney derailleur that provides adaptable gear ratios to tackle everything from steep hills to urban road speeds. The Shimano index shifter clearly displays which gear is selected. A dual-sided front sprocket guard ensures the chain remains on track even when ridden over rough terrain.

Rider comfort is aided by a front suspension with 3.94 inches (100mm) of bump-absorbing travel, able to be fine-tuned with 8 levels of damping adjustment plus a lockout setting, as well as spring-preload adjustability. Fat Kenda Juggernaut tires look brawny and provide additional bump absorption.

Lightweight aluminum is also used for key components such as the pedals and crank, wheel rims, and tapered handlebar. Instrumentation is via a 2.6 x 3.8-inch LCD display that monitors speed, pedal-assist rate, battery charge, trip information and even ambient temperature.

Thoughtful convenience and safety items are part of the FT750 package. LED headlights and taillights enhance rider conspicuity, as does a handlebar-mounted bell. A handy USB port is provided to power electronic devices, and a water bottle holder enables riders to stay hydrated. A protective cage is fitted over the derailleur to prevent drivetrain damage, and frame tabs are ready to mount rear fenders or racks.

In addition to the FT750-26, CSC offers a version with 20-inch wheels (FT750-20) that reduces the step-over and seat heights but retains all of the features of its bigger brother. CSC’s electric bicycle lineup will be growing in the coming months, and a range of convenience and comfort accessories will soon follow.

The FT750’s modest $1,688 price is due to CSC’s innovative business model of selling direct to consumers, and the price includes free shipping anywhere in the contiguous 48 U.S. states. CSC’s bikes include a 12-month warranty backed by a company dedicated to outstanding customer service.

The FT750s are available in Gloss White or Matte Black and are simply ordered via CSC-ebike.com.

CSC Electric Bicycles uses a direct path to market to maximize cost efficiencies, bringing high-quality vehicles to customers at an economical price. CSC is renowned for exceptional customer service, and our products are supported with a one-year warranty.

CSC Motorcycles Announces Appointment of Brand Manager

Veteran motorcycle journalist Kevin Duke steps into key marketing position for the American brand selling quality motorcycles direct to consumers.

AZUSA, Calif. — CSC Motorcycles is pleased to announce that it has hired veteran moto-journalist Kevin Duke as Brand Manager for the California-based company. He will be fulfilling key marketing, public relations, and media relations roles, as well as directing the brand’s content creation and social media presence.

“We are very excited to welcome Kevin into our CSC family,” announced Steve Seidner, president of CSC Motorcycles. “With his extensive motorcycle experience and marketing background, we know he will elevate CSC Motorcycles into another level and give us an opportunity to reach riders who haven’t yet been able to learn about our bikes.”

Duke brings more than 20 years of experience as a professional journalist for motorcycle publications, including Motorcyclist, Motorcycle-USA, and more than a decade as Editor-in-Chief of Motorcycle.com, one of the world’s biggest moto publications. More recently he worked for a premier PR/marketing company producing video content and other assets for a global motorcycle brand.

“I’m delighted to join the CSC Motorcycles team,” Duke enthused. “I was intrigued after learning about CSC and their products, but what really hooked me was the ethical attitude exemplified by this family-operated business. They deeply care about the people in their orbit, and that holds true for their customers. After examining their business model, it became obvious that my skills are a perfect fit for CSC’s needs. I’m excited to help gain exposure for this innovative brand!”

CSC Motorcycles uses a direct path to market, maximizing cost efficiencies to bring high-quality vehicles to its customers, built to CSC’s specifications by Zongshen. Final assembly is performed at CSC’s California headquarters, followed by a road test to ensure flawless operation before they ship directly to customers, no assembly required.

“Some people have a misconception that products built in China are substandard, but that’s not necessarily the case,” Duke observed. “Zongshen is one of the world’s largest motorcycle producers, and CSC stocks every part for its motorcycles in case any are needed, so the CSC customer experience is top notch. Their motorbikes offer unmatched value to riders and are backed by a legitimate and attentive American company.”

CSC Motorcycles currently offers a lineup of five models, ranging from the remarkably inexpensive TT250 dual-sport ($2,195) to the feature-packed RX4 adventure bike ($5,395). Two other exciting new models will be announced later in 2020, as well as an electric-assist bicycle.

CSC TT250 Enduro: On and Off-road FUN awaits!

The 230cc motor used in the CSC TT250 Enduro (and the CSC SG250 San Gabriel) is a modernized version of the “world-design” motorcycle CG engine first developed back in 1970’s. Manufacturers wanted to export motorcycles into the growing market of Southeast Asia. There were no motorcycle “dealers” in these emerging markets, only local repair shops. The concept of routine maintenance was completely foreign to the motor bike owners – most who relied on motorcycles as their sole means of transportation.

To tap into these demanding markets, this new motorcycle engine was specifically designed to require minimal maintenance. The lightweight, short-pushrod overhead valve 125cc engine featured a gear-driven, single camshaft structure for both intake and exhaust. The shaft is located where one would find the cam-chain housing in a more conventional overhead cam engine. Honda later built a new engine factory in Brazil for the growing market in South America and introduced a new motorcycle called the CG125 Titan.

Zongshen Modern Factory – Building Over 3 MILLION Motors Per Year

Over 40 years later, the original CG125 patent has long-expired. Today, Zongshen, the manufacturer of the CSC TT250, has a modern factory that builds over 3 MILLION engines each year. Zongshen builds both a 125cc and a 230cc version of the old CG engine. CSC Motorcycles distributes only the 230cc version in North America, with the additional update of a counter-balancer. This dependable motor is available in both the CSC TT250 Enduro and the CSC SG250 San Gabriel café racer. Both models are EPA-approved for sale in all 50-states.

CSC TT250 Enduro

CSC TT250 Enduro: the perfect bike to CUSTOMIZE with CSC accessories

By American standards, 230cc is considered small. But in the CSC TT250, this engine is placed in a motorcycle that weighs only 300 pounds! That gives the CSC TT250 Enduro both low-end torque and highway capabilities. Fuel economy is typically over 65 miles per gallon. When combined with a 2.9-gallon gas tank, this provides the rider with a range exceeding 175 miles.

CSC TT250 Enduro appeals to new motorcycle buyers who want a basic, dependable all-purpose motorcycle. These riders appreciate the nimble handling and performance of the 230cc engine in the lightweight chassis. Experienced bikers love the CSC TT250 Enduro for the low-priced package of features – and then customize their bike for their own style of riding.

Installing a CSC RX3 Adventure Center Stand

Fast and Easy Installation of a Center Stand on the CSC RX3 – a GREAT Accessory for any ADV Bike!

Guest post by Randy Reek

I recently took advantage of the CSC “Black Friday” sale and ordered a center stand for my RX3. I have had center stands on several bikes in the past, but had not added one to my RX3. Looking forward to the 2020 riding calendar, I made this the first change to my bike.

CSC RX3 center stand

CSC RX3 center stand – a FAST and EASY installation!

The only reason to NOT add a center stand is the fear of losing ground clearance on rough trails. But this is really not an issue with the RX3 Adventure since the mounting tabs are still in place on the lower frame – whether or not you add the stand! Besides, if you are in rocks or logs where this critical inch of clearance is an issue – you are probably over your head and pushing your RX3 anyway!

There are a few valid reasons why your ADV bike needs a center stand:

  1. The center stand makes maintenance and repairs much easier. Whether changing a flat tire or lubing the chain, an upright bike is a huge advantage.
  2. A center stand which holds the bike securely and level also makes daily packing and unpacking easier.
  3. An upright bike on the center stand also takes up less room than a bike leaning on the side stand. This comes in handy in the garage, but also might be an advantage in sketchy parking spots with other motorcycles, fences, or anything that can hurt your bike. The center stand may also provide better footing on soft surfaces than the side stand.

Installing the center stand on the CSC RX3 Adventure is easy and takes less than 30 minutes. It takes a few minutes to clean off the accumulated dirt on the bottom of the frame, then the stand slips into place between the mounting tabs.

CSC RX3 center stand

Clean off the mud and the RX3 center stand slips in place.

CSC has a full pictorial tutorial on the website. Here are the simple steps required to install the RX3 center stand:

The center stand kit will include the stand, a pivot shaft, spring and mounting clip. The pivot shaft may require a circlip at each end. Or the shaft may have a fixed washer on one end, which requires a circlip only on the opposite side for installation. To attach the spring mounting clip to the frame, a short, self-tapping screw with an integral shoulder is used. You will need a 13mm socket for this installation. In addition, a pliers to seat the circlip and a screwdriver to install the spring will be needed.

RX3 Center Stand kit – just add a little grease to the pivot shaft

You can complete this easy installation with the bike on its side stand or a lift.

1. If required, install a circlip on one end of the center stand pivot shaft. This is not necessary if the shaft has a fixed washer on one end.
2. Lube the center stand pivot shaft with grease.
3. Lube the interior of the center stand mount with grease.
4. Position the center stand between its two mounting points on the motorcycle frame, then slide the pivot shaft through the center stand and its mounting points. (If installing on a dirty bike, first clean off any accumulated dirt or mud.)
5. Install the retaining circlip on the center stand pivot shaft.
6. Insert the shouldered self-tapping bolt through the spring tab. The spring tab faces rearward and is attached to the hole located under the motorcycle frame on the right side of the stand. Tighten the self-tapping bolt with the tab facing rearward. Do not overtighten the self-tapping bolt. A dab of Loctite is a good idea on this screw.
7. Install one hooked end of the spring on the tab.
8. With the center stand in the raised position, install the other hooked end of the spring on the center stand stud. Pry the spring in place with a screwdriver. Go slowly – it may take a couple of attempts to position the spring on the center stand.

You are done! If you need to remove the center stand for any reason (riding rough off-road trails where ground clearance is crucial), you can remove the spring, right-side circlip, shaft and stand in about five minutes.

I have installed center stands on other bike brands – and the RX3 installation is the easiest and fastest – BY FAR! CSC has the frame pre-engineered for the stand. The center stand is VERY reasonably priced. You can also have CSC install the center stand before shipping your new RX3. There are lots of advantages of adding the center stand – so consider making the upgrade to your RX3 Adventure!
